History

Control Data Systems, Inc. (CDSI) integrates open systems solutions for manufacturing engineering and information management systems. CDSI began as Control Data Corporation's Computer Products Group. When Control Data Corporation announced the separation of its business into two companies on 27 May 1992, the press release indicated CDSI would retain the Control Data name and computer products business while Ceridian Corporation would take over Contol Data's business and information management services. Initially CDSI remained a wholly owned subsidiary of Ceridian. In late July, Ceridian spun off Control Data Systems as an independent corporation.
